During my daily morning TikTok scroll, I stumbled across comedian Heather McDonald dragging former Real Housewife of New York, Bethenny Frankel by her Snow White bob. Apparently, there’s been murmurs going on this week, but I’ve been too distracted by the feuding female rappers. Here’s the Skinnygirl of it: Bethenny (much like Nicki Minaj) cannot and will not stop beefing with every woman with any success she deems them unworthy of. *Cue “The Man” by Taylor Swift*
So, back to the TikTok: Heather McDonald, former regular on “Chelsea Lately” and current host of the popular podcast, “Juicy Scoop” was absolutely coming for B’s throat. She called her “the biggest hypocrite in Hollywood” and claimed that Bethenny did not support women, citing Ramona Singer’s famous zinger. In the video, she brought up Bethenny’s recent PR crisis involving her lawyers and a small creator. Remember those murmurs I mentioned earlier?
Meredith Lynch (@meredithmlynch) recently announced to her followers that she had to delete videos pertaining to a “certain” former RHONY cast member after receiving a cease and desist, which sparked a conversation surrounding Frankel’s pattern of “shutting down” small content creators. McDonald pointed out that Bethenny had become famous due to speaking her mind and sharing her opinions, and intimidating others for doing the same earned her the title of Biggest Hypocrite in Hollywood.
Bethenny fired back, saying Heather was trying to “stay relevant” and that she doesn’t even live in Hollywood. Good one, B.
The entrepreneur and philanthropist has been stirring up controversy on social media in a constant and seemingly compulsive manner. She’s recently begun a semi-regular series on TikTok in which she gives unfiltered reviews of celebrity’s beauty brands, labeling Kylie Jenner’s lip products a “scam” and Hailey Bieber’s skincare line “basic.” She’s also currently suing TikTok over an unchecked ad. After Kim Kardashian was booed at the LA Rams game, B said she wasn’t surprised because football “fans are people with daughters and sons who have hope for realistic role models for their children,” unlike people in the fashion industry. (Sure, Jan.) Last month, she criticized Meghan Markle for like, idk, existing, calling her a “terrible businessperson” and “sanctimonious.”
Who is Bethenny’s publicist? Does she have one? If so, she needs to get rid of them. The All PR is Good PR approach is about as promising as the “Our marriage is crumbling, let’s have a baby,” method. It will never be beneficial to your brand to regularly and viciously tear down other woman on the internet, but especially not in 2022.
